North Yorkshire has many good pubs serving delicious food very near to Yearsley. The pub two miles away from Treganhawke was awarded the pub of the year.
There are two golf courses, one 18 hole and the other 9 hole only 2 miles away, course fishing at Gilling Lake (two miles away) and trout fishing at Thornton Lodge Farm (4 miles away) and there is horse riding at Helmsley.
The historic market town of Helmsley boasts a theatre, the walled garden, a Norman castle, English Heritage Rievaulx Abbey and several excellent cafes. Helmsley and Easingwold both have weekly markets.
Dalby forest is easily accessible and has 9 miles of scenic drive where bicycles can be hired. Go Ape can also be found here.
Take a step back in time and visit the famous North Yorks Moors railway from Pickering to Grosmont.
The coast is easily accessible where the popular resorts of Scarborough and Whitby can be found.
If sight seeing is preferred then Castle Howard or English Heritage Byland Abbey.
The area is just perfect for both walking and cycling either directly from the house, where many circular walks can be enjoyed through the forest and past hills and lakes, or within a short distance to the North York Moors.
